Accessibility statement
Last updated: October 2, 2026
Nivcharot works to make its website accessible to people with disabilities, in the belief that everyone is entitled to equal access to information and service. The site is built and maintained with the intention of meeting Israeli Standard 5568 for web accessibility (based on WCAG 2.0 level AA), in accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments), 2013.
Accessibility accommodations on this site
- A consistent heading structure on every page, for easy screen-reader navigation.
- Alternative text (alt) for content images.
- Labels linked to every form field, including error messages tied to the relevant field for screen readers.
- Full keyboard navigation: a "skip to content" link at the top of every page, focus trapped inside open menus and pop-ups, and Escape-to-close for them.
- A visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
- Text color contrast that meets the standard's requirements.
- Correct text direction for the page's language — Hebrew right-to-left, English left-to-right.
- Screen-reader support for dynamic components (menu, accordion, carousel, story viewer) via ARIA standards.
Known accessibility limitations
- This statement is based on the site team's own internal review, and has not yet been audited by an external certified accessibility auditor. The organization is working to arrange one.
- The PDF files linked from the Halakha page have not yet been verified for full screen-reader accessibility.
- Embedded YouTube videos (on the podcast page and in the story viewer) play inside YouTube's own player, whose accessibility depends on that external platform and isn't within our control.
